A gunman turned an Aurora, Colo. midnight premiere of the new film The Dark Knight Rises into a bloody rampage early Friday morning. The man, who was apprehended at the scene, had at least two guns with him and began shooting about a half-hour into the film.

At least 14 are dead and 50 are injured as a result of the shooting. The alleged shooter was apprehended at the scene and identified as James Holmes.

It appears that several moviegoers tweeted in the minutes after the massacre as they evacuated the theater; while it’s not possible to confirm any of the details in their accounts, here are some of the most dramatic tweets and photos from apparent eyewitnesses and reporters.
