According to one right-wing religious group in Ukraine, television programs like “Spongebob Squarepants” and “The Teletubbies” are stripping the country’s children of their purity and innocence, and must be stopped at once.

Officials at Ukraine’s National Expert Commission for Protecting Public Morality have caught wind of the group’s report and will soon meet to discuss the fate of these and other television shows and films, the Wall Street Journal reports. The commission will investigate claims that programming from “Spongebob” and “The Teletubbies” to Shrek and “South Park” are all part of a master plan —  “a large-scale experiment on Ukrainian children” to “create criminals and perverts.”

The report, which first appeared on the website of a small conservative Catholic group, Family Under the Protection of the Holy Virgin, focused specifically on “Spongebob” — which allegedly promotes homosexuality — and “The Teletubbies,” which allegedly converts any child into “an imbecile who will sit near the screen with an open mouth and swallow any information,” the Journal reports. The group also finds it problematic that Tinky Winky carries what looks dangerously similar to a woman’s handbag.

Also on the chopping block — “South Park” for its “reincarnation propaganda” and Shrek for its “sadism.”
