Britain's Prince Harry talks to Alex Logan, aged six, as he attends the WellChild awards ceremony at the InterContinental Hotel in London September 3, 2012.

Prince Harry has finally remerged in the public eye two weeks after naked photos of the young royal cavorting in a Las Vegas VIP suite surfaced online two weeks ago.

But rather than steer attention away from his recent escapades, Harry seemed happy to poke fun at himself last night at the WellChild awards ceremony in London, which honored the bravery of seriously ill children in Britain. Harry is the charity’s Royal Patron.

Six-year-old leukemia survivor Alex Logan, who was presented an award by Harry, had previously told Britain’s ITV News that he planned to say, “I’m glad you’ve got your clothes on, Prince Harry!”

Upon meeting Alex, the prince jokingly wagged his finger at the little boy.

“Harry said to Alex, ‘You keep looking up at your mum, looks like you’re dying to say something but you know she will tell you off,’” the boy’s mother, Debbie Logan, was quoted as saying.

“‘I heard you were on ITV earlier, you said something cheeky, let’s not talk about that here.’”

Harry did, however, allow Alex to stroke his head with his toy penguin.

At the ceremony, Harry met someone else who wasn’t exactly shy in coming forward. The Daily Telegraph reports that five-year-old Hope Hillis, who has undergone more than 50 operations in her young life after being born prematurely, showed no hesitation in licking the royal’s face.

When the prince, taken aback, said: “But we’ve only just met,” Hope proceed to plant another lick on his cheek.
