How can a marriage that looks this fun not last?

They’ve made a huge mistake.

Celebrity divorces are a dime a dozen, but this one feels emotionally bankrupt. Comedic couple Amy Poehler and Will Arnett are separating after nine years of marriage, two children and the notion that soul mates are real.

But actually. Arnett and Poehler got hitched in 2003 after dating for three years. Arnett even claimed love at first sight!

“The first time I saw her onstage, I said, ‘I’m gonna marry that girl,'” he told People in 2009.

Throw in her years on SNL and his appearances on 30 Rock, and let’s call a spade a spade — their kids are a lock for a Mark Twain Prize.

Though a source told Us Weekly that the split is “very amicable,” the trashcans full of tear-stained tissues everywhere are less hunky-dory.

To Will and Amy, we say: Come on! That, and thanks for ruining the 21st century.
