One of the long-running gags on NBC’s hit comedy series Parks and Recreation is that Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler) has an enormous crush on Vice President Joe Biden. So it wasn’t a huge surprise when Knope’s fiancé, Ben Wyatt (Adam Scott), arranged for the starry-eyed town council member to meet with the recently re-elected Vice President on the show’s Nov. 15th episode.
What was more of a surprise is that it turns out that the veep has some decent comedic acting chops. “The vice president was amazing,” Executive producer Michael Schur told the New York Times. ”He improvised a couple of things that we ended up using.” It must be reassuring to know that if this politics thing doesn’t work out, Biden can always head to Hollywood.
