Al and Sandra Alverson was expecting two gifts they had bought online to get delivered this past Wednesday, but only one made it safely to their house in Houston. Wonder what happened to the other one?

The mystery began after FedEx sent the Alversons a confirmation notice that a package had been delivered that morning. According to FedEx’s records, the Apple iPad Mini, which was supposed to be a gift for their daughter, had come at 9:29 am. But guess what? No package.

Al Alverson, who had set up a surveillance system monitoring his front door, decided to review the tape and found that the package had arrived at the stated delivery time. Intrigued, he kept watching the video until a UPS delivery man arrived at about 1:15 that afternoon to deliver a second package. But just minutes later, the delivery man returned – and grabbed the FedEx package containing Alverson’s daughter’s Christmas gift.

“I said, ‘oh my God,’ it is the UPS guy,” Alverson told KHOU Houston.

After the Alversons posted the video on YouTube, UPS company promised to help Alverson replace the iPad he had ordered. According to reports, the company also fired the delivery man – who had been hired as a seasonal worker – and pressed theft charges. As far as Santa goes, we’ll know who he’ll be leaving off his list.

I worry more about the a wipes here stealing my stuff than any of the hard working people of all three companies. I received over a dozen packages from all three and they were all delivered on time and in good shape. So shut up and get a job and quit complaining.

You get what you pay for UPS at 8.50 an hour, What did you expect aside from more profit?

And people want the post office to go under? If a usps employee steals the packages their shipping, its a federal crime. So they don't do it. If a UPS employee does, they get fired.

A black man stealing?  I'm shocked. :)

i find it hard to believe this story. Most Apple products have to be signed for. I just bought an IPOD ....had to be signed for. Our IPAD had to be signed for. And why if the package did not come, would the man have not watched his video first to see what happened to his package. FEDEX is a crooked company. They had a Facebook page telling people UPS was getting a bailout..CASH from the Federal Government..One big A** lie. And gullible people in this country believed it.  UPS donates millions to charities, pays great wages and benefits. FEDEX uses their workers and says they are contract workers..FedEx is exactly what is wrong with America today. I am retired from UPS.

@JaySchuls Read the article. UPS, not USPS. Please learn how to spell too. Your grammar is insulting.

@republican The worker was seasonal (not union). I guess you didn't know that UPS hires temporary non-union workers during the holidays.  As a good honest republican, I also guess you'll now need to blame all non-union workers.

A white: Serial killer, child molestor, serial rapist, domestic terrorist, mass muderer of children, coward, republican, racist, humped your mom, serviced by your mom by the hundreds? I'm shocked. : 0

@ceta02 Shut up! Love the lord your God with all your heart. You guys try to cheat the world and then want everyone else to lie and steal to get by.

@ceta02 Yes, because white men never steal. Or commit murder, or bribery, or genocide, or adultery, or even curse.

@ceta02 I am black, and I was hoping it was not another black man stealing. Hate to see this! Instead of working hard to buy the cheap $350.00 IPad he had to steal it. His future is over. What a loser. So I agree with your sarcasm.

@ceta02 I'm shocked by the "smiley face" at the end of your hopelessly racist comment. Is this really your contribution to the internet. Re-think your worldview pal. Because you only get one go-around at life and you are wasting yours as a bigot.

@ceta02 - an ignorant racist remark in today's society - and I am NOT shocked - that is the real problem presented with this story.

FedEx sucks, UPS sucks, FedEx + UPS = USPS. I have accounts with all
three. FedEx receives US gov't grant money for fuels of all things. I'm
sure if FedEx does it so does UPS. They both SUCK but hey,,, not much
you can do about it if you have to ship your items. I'll take UPS
sucking over FedEx anytime

@CeliaRunkle But the video clearly shows a UPS worker stealing the pkg.   Are you calling that a conspiracy?   It's not the problem of UPS.  It's the....

@CeliaRunkle

(1) If you had watched the video you would know that he pre-signed for the package.

(2) If you had read the article, you would know that UPS has publicly acknowledged that this happened, and fired the delivery driver.

(3) UPS is, in my experience, terrible; certainly worse than FEDEX and USPS. The culture there is one of drivers not caring one bit about the packages they deliver.

Okay while I understand loyalty to an employer, I have to say you are drinking some serious Kool-Aid, my friend. First, while Apple does indeed have packages signed for, you also have the option to pre-sign for deliveries by printing out a form to leave for the delivery company and leaving it on your door attesting to your release authorization. IF YOU WATCH THE VIDEO you'll see the FedEx guy actually take the taped form off of the door and review it before leaving the package and taking the form with him. Also, how can you not believe this story?? IF YOU WATCH THE VIDEO, you CLEARLY see the UPS guy come back and take the package!! C'mon, Cletus...UPS may have treated you right while you worked there but obviously they are hiring some seasonal scabs at the moment.
