‘Twas the week before Christmas, when all through the house, not a creature was stirring, except for the President’s dog.

In this newly viral video, Michelle is seen reading ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. on December 14, when Bo, the First Family’s dog, comes bounding across the floor and jumps straight into the First Lady’s lap.

The holiday reading has been a tradition for America’s first ladies since the early 1950s, according to USA Today. “This is exactly what [Bo] does at home,” the First Lady quipped. “He tries to beat Malia and Sasha to my lap.”

The Obamas adopted Bo, a 4-year-old Portuguese water dog, during Barack Obama’s first term back in April 2009. They had promised their two girls a dog once the family had finished the 2008 election campaign. However, it doesn’t mean the girls will be getting another dog this time now that Barack has won a second term.

“I will say that for now, one dog is probably enough,” the President joked in his reelection victory speech.
