Sean Pawling, a musician based in Los Angeles, is clearly not afraid of making music on the slopes.

In a video uploaded last week, Pawling can be seen playing Wagner’s “Ride of the Valkyries” as he skis downhill. The clip has been since viewed over 600,000 times and counting.

Pawling, who was born and raised in Lake Tahoe, writes music in Los Angeles. Instead of using one of his own songs, though, he decided to use the famous operatic piece initially composed in 1854 – why, we cannot say, except that it seems to fit the moment. At any rate, it sounds like unless you managed to catch up with Pawling during his act, you might only be privy to a few brief snippets of sound.

Huffington Post also points out that it’s not the first time that a musical ensemble has congregated on the slopes: in 2006, the UC Davis marching band performed while skiing downhill as well. Entertaining as it is, though, we should probably leave this kind of performance to the pros.
