This week in the world of late-night television, a popular host was kidnapped and another tried out his television dubbing skills.
Jimmy Kimmel’s Thursday night show featured one single guest — Matt Damon — and he didn’t take his invitation lightly. Instead, he kidnapped Kimmel, tied him up, and made him sit idly by while Damon himself hosted the show, tweaking it to his own liking. He completely rewrote the show’s introduction scene and modified the guest list as he saw fit. But the highlight was a parody of casting calls, in which Kimmel auditions for every role Matt Damon has ever had. We sincerely hope Damon wore a penguin suit while doing the voice-over work for Happy Feet Two.
The (fake) beef between the two goes back years, when Kimmel, during a particularly lame show, started a joke that they ran out of time for Matt Damon. And it became a running gag — mentioned, Damon notes, 1,205 times. But now, Damon got his revenge, 1,205 times over.
