WATCH: New North Korea Internet Video Shows Obama, U.S. Troops Up in Flames

The Hermit Kingdom seems to boast its nuclear capabilities

You’ve already destroyed New York City in a rocket attack that looks suspiciously like one from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. What do you do for an encore? If you’re North Korea’s semiofficial Uriminzokkiri news website, you follow up with a propaganda video that depicts President Obama and U.S. troops on fire and what may be an animation of a nuclear device launching.

(MORE: North Korea’s Latest Video Destroys New York City, Angers Call of Duty Makers)

Titled “Thanks to the Americans,” this video comes a week after North Korea conducted its third nuclear test on Feb. 12, and appears to blame the U.S. for the Hermit Kingdom’s pursuit of weapons of mass destruction. The New York Times sums up the text:

‘It is not incorrect to say that the United States’ gangster-like policy of hostility prompted us to become a most strong military power,’ says the text that scrolls across the screen. ‘Thus it can be said that it was ‘thanks to’ the Americans that we conducted a nuclear test.’

Once again, however, Pyongyang’s propaganda masters needed a little help to get their message across. While Uriminzokkiri’s earlier video was taken down after a copyright complaint from Call of Duty gamemaker ActivisionGlobal Post reports the latest clip lifted its music from the soundtrack of the video game Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.

this is a crap video, looks like a 2000 video game that i wouldn't play, seriously? a slide show with some fire and music stolen from a video game?

Hahaha, what a crappy team they have over there. The point of propaganda is that it is supposed to be visually grabbing, but they suppress and starve their artists so much that they can't even get propaganda out of them. Hahaha, North Korea is so pathetic and poor.

Napoleon Syndrome. This regime must be filled with men who "measure up short" and are determined to prove their manhood by building large phallic symbols that explode...

I wonder if they know the world is laughing at them? I know I got a chuckle out of this video. Hey 'lil Kim, can you hear the laughter?

I have many people I care about here. The saddest fact of all this chest pounding, is that they are correct. Mcnamara helped president Johnson with a reason to ramp up, and extend the Vietnam war "ON A LIE" over 100,000 civilian deaths in North, and South Vietnam. 40,000 US soldier deaths. President Bush invaded Iraq "ON A LIE" sorry I cannot quote the number of deaths. I also found some interesting facts about the Bin Laden family helping to finance the Bush oil ventures. 15 of the 19 highjackers from 9\11 were from Saudi Arabia. The Saudi's worst enemy was Saddam Hussein. We never as an average citizen find out the real truth until years after. Mean while we have to deal with the fall out from power warped minds trying to play god with their new trusted leadership. Our only redemption would be to impeach Obama, bring Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, and all others involved up on charges of War crimes.

As a true American with all the pride in the world in my country. It is my belief that this is the only way to show our true American values. At this point, if we let these crimes go. Our children will live in fear, and probably deal with greater Tyanny then we want to imagine. Mark my words.Bengahzi was not what you think it was. You will find in a few years the truth, that we were transporting weapons to the rebels in Syria.

The UN has allowed PRNK to develop into an Orwellian Police State since 1953 that regularly Shakes Down the West by starving it's own population and threatening the South...what did you expect... another Workers Paradise?

One might want to consider what the target audience for this video is. It's probably not so much for world consumption, as much as it is propaganda aimed at the people of NK themselves. The easiest way to rally people to your side is to give them a common enemy to face. I suspect that perhaps the leadership in Pyongyang is having some difficulty with dissatisfaction amongst the general populace, and thus are trying to give them a face to be angry at, rather than turning their attention to the suspect internal leadership itself.

There is only one threat to America - 7 guys sitting in Beijing that head the largest criminal enterprise in the history of mankind - The Communist Party of China. These guys almost control the world. Only America stands in their way. These guys very survival depends on crushing America economically so it can overtake them militarily. The leaders of China are also the most paranoid leaders on Earth - they fear the noose and are like ghosts to their own people.

Now pretend you are the mafia king like these guys - would you smack America around from your own house? No. You would use a proxy if at all possible. So I wouldn't put it past the Chinese that North Korea does not really have the bomb. These could be Chinese tactical munitions nuke tests they are conducting in North Korea so it looks like North Korea has nukes. Think of it - China can test new nuclear technologies it has stolen from the west (hacking) and at the same time China can be completely cloaked, circumventing the nuclear test ban treaty by doing these tests under a North Korean Mountain and China will not be threatened by North Korean nukes because their boy Kim does not really have any. This scenario has so many bonuses - America gets smacked around and the issue of sanctions forcing another nation to stop threatening pacific security becomes null and void - Its very important to the Chinese to have sanctions against its only friend have zero effect. The Korean Nuke menagerie causes increased tensions between the two Korea's and even worries Japan - the country China hates so much it teaches all Chinese school children to hate Japanese. So the scenario is win, win, win for the gangsters running China in their quest to stay in power and destroy America economically so they can then grab Taiwan, Philippines, south China, Papua New Guinea and the final ultimate crown of glory - Australia.

WRONG. The only threat to America happens to be itself. Our foreign policy and desire to police the world and regulate the deeds of other nations is exactly why other counrtries regard the U.S. with such contempt. Plenty of Americans will agree we are our own worst enemy. It's about time congress wakes up to this before our pride costs us the so-called freedom we fought 300 years for.

way to rip off The Elder Scrolls music, North Korea. what's next? I'm dying to see what other AMERICAN POP CULTURE MEDIA you will try to spin against us as if we won't catch it. Who would have thought there was actually an ENTIRE Asian country that consisted solely of retarded people.

North Korea is a Chinese province. Fat boy Kim is a puppet to China just as Emperor Puyi was a puppet of the Japanese in Manchuria - Both Children. Both controlled by occupying powers and believe me China is in full control of North Korea.

North Korea's new found super arrogance has come with a price - he sold his soul to the Chinese devil. Now he is China's booty call. China will use him to create trouble and make the USA look like idiots. So the solution is all current sanctions against North Korea now must encompass all of China until China cuts all trade and economic assistance with North Korea and North Korea apologizes to the South Korean's and USA and dismantles its nuclear program.

Sounds far fetched but its plausible. If the West stands together and unanimously expands North Korean sanctions to any member of the security council (5 members) that helps North Korea in any way - then China gets walloped. All trade blocked. There should be UN troops all along the China North Korea border to make sure there is no trade between the 2 countries - then Sanctions on all China trade can be lifted.

If the North Koreans start starving to death then a Non-security council nation can supply humanitarian assistance. (south korea or india for example). But Any Nation with the responsibilities of being a UN security council member and have the ability to veto resolutions involving the lives of other peoples and nations MUST ALSO take full responsibility in preventing nuclear proliferation at its own border or it to will be sanctioned.

@JohnnySenkaku They'll launch into SK. That's their trump card if you don't play the game with them. It's not an outcome worth any gamble. If only SK could evacuate momentarily... but there would still be an untold fortune in property damage, and NK would do it out of spite as well as command.

@DanteD'Anthony @RobinLeedsburg The called NK an axis of evil in 2003 by the Bush adminstration, along with Pakistan, Iran, Iraq. Afghanistan. Guess what? US goes in and invades Iraq illegally, sends drones all over Pakistan, killing thousands of innocent civilians, they're war mongering on Iran like there is no tomorrow, and killed tens of thousands in Afghanistan. North Korea is simply protecting itself, and the US propaganda machine is just upset because North Korea has the capabilities of protecting itself.

I like to sit and laugh at what North Korea says about the US, but I think it's been more of a stretch in the past few weeks. Their rhetoric has been more and more threatening, from calling for the destruction of South Korea, to claiming to have more nuclear tests ready, and now this. It's about time for Obama to say something before it's too late.

Shame Kim Jong Un on this child leader-acting as the child-never learned a thing in his short years. The hope he would be smarter than his cave-learned elders has proved false. Darkness may be good for mushrooms, bad for Koreans evidently stunting their growth in a myriad ways. No face for these North leaders of this regime.

DanteD'Anthony

Sadly, they're a mirror of what governments largely are-now and in the past. A bunch of goons living off the labor of the population, stirring up trouble with the goons living off the neighboring populations, and invariably setting  in motion mass horrors and death. At least we have our submarine fleet-if they manage to wreak havoc on some US cities their moment of murderous joy will be short lived as the US Navy creates the first ever radioactive nature preserve over the ruins of North Korea.

RobinLeedsburg

I dare the North Koreans to launch one of their pathetic ICBM's even over International waters. I guarantee China will be the first one to invade DPRK the second they pull some stupid stunt. The North Koreans don't care about the Americans. They only care about control over their people. This Makeshift-CoD montage video is only meant to provide their people with the understanding the Kim Jong Un is to be feared. But based off of the recent rocket and nuclear testing failures of the DPRK, I would say they have nothing to fear!

GlenPersson

@ConnerDavidson careful what you dare...world war three is upon us and even if others consider them a mad race, one nuclear hit in success could bring an entire nation down in less than one hour :)

@GlenPersson @DanteD'Anthony @ConnerDavidson you can't counter a submarine force with thousands of nuclear warheads if a nation is determined to counter-srtike a nuclear attack on its soil. That's why we haven't had a nuclear war with among the great nuclear powers-anyone who starts such a war is signing the extermination of their country because the opposing nation's submarines will payback, completely, brutally, and without mercy. You know what you call a ten million strong army in a nuclear exchange with a submarine fleet? Targets. Easy targets.

The only intelligent move was to steal Western music.  Their own sounds like a cat being tortured.

Actually the pictures of the American troops marching through fire reminds me of the time I was asked by one of my student when I was teaching at the Tianjin Foreign Affairs University, "How can Americans relax in boiling water."  It turned out he's seen a video of a Jacuzzi.

@GlenPersson @StanleyKerns the USA and it's allies "One World Order"? My grandfathers brother was at Iwo Jima, and my Dad was at Inchon. There is not as much coordination between the US and it's Allies as you assert, in my opinion-nations don't have friendships they have interests and those interests are usually directed by the oligarchies, aristocracies; which in and of themselves are increasingly a trans-national class. Members of that class compete among themselves too.

DanteD'Anthony
DanteD'Anthony like.author.displayName 1 Like

@StanleyKerns that's a rather simplistic one sided indictment of Germany as the cause of WWII. It was a little more complicated than that. Moreover, murdering leaders of foreign nation states...pretty much makes us entirely worthless as a civilization because it never ends with the guys like Hitler-sooner or later you're just popping people indiscriminately in a global game of promoting national interests. So, no-taking out Hitler isn't how civilized nations deal with one another. Hitler wasn't the cause of WWII he was a symptom of ailed international policies.

GlenPersson
GlenPersson

@DanteD'Anthony@StanleyKernsIt amazes me the idiots of this world, Hitler started world war simply because Germany attacked Poland on September 1, 1939, and thats when it all began. Read history.

DanteD'Anthony
DanteD'Anthony

@GlenPersson @DanteD'Anthony @StanleyKerns actually the History of World War II goes a lot deeper than when the shot is fired Glen-you really want to discuss the Histories of Wars in Europe you don't look at the date a leader direct a troop movement. You look decades before that. You look at WW1, you look at the economic, Industrial, technological and social conditions in  the preceding century. You look at the Congress of Vienna in 1815. Read some Sun Tzu guy, before you call people "idiots of this world" or maybe read "A Politically Incorrect Guide to American History" regarding some of the larger issues in that war and the war that preceded it and the long peace that preceded that.

Hilarious.   If the "Dear Young Leader" and his military in North Korea knew just how much Obama aspires to have his own cult of personality here in the U.S., and what a re-distributionist he actually is, they'd welcome him with open arms and a ticker-tape parade in Pyongyang ...
