Britain's Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, and her husband, Prince William, attend St Patrick's Day Parade at Mons Barracks in Aldershot, southern England, on March 17, 2013.

The Duchess of Cambridge may not know the sex of her baby, but she’s hoping for a boy, according to the Associated Press.

Middleton, who is five months pregnant, appeared with her husband Prince William at a St. Patrick’s Day ceremony at Mons Barracks in Aldershot, southern England. While presenting the 1st Battalion Irish Guards with traditional sprigs of shamrocks for their caps, the Duchess shared her thoughts on her baby with one of the officers.

Guardsman Lee Wheeler inquired about whether it was a girl or a boy, to which the Duchess said she’d like to have a boy while her husband wants a girl. The couple have yet to decide on names for the baby, who is third in line to the British throne.

Perhaps that’s just to throw everyone off. More recently during a public appearance Middleton told a well-wisher, “Thank you, I will take that for my d…” after receiving a teddy bear. The royal couple claim not to know the child’s gender and do not plan on revealing it.

Sad! Time has degenerated to this.

Is this of any substance?

To William and Kate: Accept what God gives you. Hopefully twins, boy and a girl, to make the parents happy.

The obvious solution: Kate has twins and splits the difference. If she's having twins, the royal media will let us know immediately.

@deconstructiva That would be interesting - can you imagine, the first one out gets to be King! (or Queen!)
