Jay-Z is upping the stakes when it comes to what should be part of the backstage rider.

British tabloid newspaper, the Sun, is reporting that the rapper has invited a professional cigar roller – and we didn’t know such a job existed either – on the Legends Of The Summer world tour.

A “gentlemen’s club” will be backstage during all of the dates, which also involves Justin Timberlake. “Jay met this cigar expert at a friend’s private party recently. He had been hired to roll cigars for guests in a smoking room,” a source in the rap star’s camp told the tabloid. “They were chatting for ages about the origins of tobacco and all the different types and then Jay-Z offered to have him on board for the tour dates. It goes well with the nature of the tour where there’s going to be a lot of whisky and cigars.”

The Legends of Summer tour begins on Jul. 17 in Toronto and wraps a month later in Miami. The 43-year-old collaborated with Timberlake on the former ‘N Sync star’s single “Suit & Tie,” taken from Timberlake’s new album The 20/20 Experience. And if you paid attention to the music video for “Suit & Tie,” you’ll recall that cigars were smoked while the whisky flowed freely.

And if you’re wondering why Jay-Z would consider hiring the cigar maker, it seems that’s just how he rolls.
