When you’re a journalist and news breaks, sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do. Take, for example, Chinese TV reporter Chen Ying, who covered the deadly earthquake that jolted China’s Sichuan province this week while wearing her wedding dress.

ABC News reports that it’s unclear whether the earthquake hit in the middle of Chen’s wedding, or if it struck while she was still prepping for the ceremony. Either way, video shows her reporting on the breaking news in full bridal regalia, complete with her veil and wrist corsage.

Chen interviewed local residents affected by the 7.0-magnitude quake, which hit the city of Ya’an leaving at least 188 people dead, more than 11,000 injured and another 25 missing. According to the South China Morning Post, an image of the reporter-bride soon went viral on Chinese social media, with many users lauding her “professional spirit” — and her bridal beauty.

Reports indicate that Chen eventually did take a break to say her vows — and then returned to work.
