High wire artist, acrobat, and all-around daredevil Nik Wallenda is gearing up for his attempted walk across the Little Colorado River Gorge. And what have you done today?

As NewsFeed reported previously, the 34-year-old — who’s been tightrope walking since he was a toddler — will attempt to walk across a two-inch thick (two-inch thick!) cable strung 1,500 feet (1,500 feet!) above the river. For context: that’s higher than the Empire State Building.

Watch this live stream, courtesy of the Discovery Channel, beginning at 8 p.m. ET. If all goes according to plan, the feat should take about a half hour.

Sport does not equal amazing athletic activity (although walking the tightrope is definitely athletic activity). People fish for sport, golf, hunt, shoot, throw darts, race cars, sail boats, race horses, train dogs and birdwatch. Sport is recreation that involves physical activity, not necessarily amazing athleticism.

UNREAL !  Already the PC police questioning this guy's FAITH, AND HIS PROFESSING IT.  Maybe if he was shouting Allah Akbar, while pulling a trigger or detonator it would be rational to them ?

Seven generations doing this must be a lot of pressure. But no one wants to see him die.

I can't watch it.  I hope he makes it.  I really do.  But I cannot watch this.

This is worse than the hype for the super bowl. I turned it off after 10 minutes to watch Dodgeball
