If you type the word “gay” into Google Wednesday, the search box turns rainbow, the colors of the gay pride flag. Just sayin’.

In a historic ruling this morning, the Supreme Court struck down the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), which was signed by Bill Clinton 17 years ago and defined marriage as a union between a man and a woman. In a 5-4 decision, the highest court decided that the federal law was an unconstitutional violation of the Fifth Amendment.

Supporters are celebrating the ruling on Facebook by changing their profile pictures back to the Human Rights Campaign’s red-and-pink equal sign – and its parodies – images that went viral in March when the Supreme Court began hearing the same-sex marriage cases.
