Gaiman still pays scientology! What has happened to journalism? Can you even do your job and ask the hard question? Neil Gaiman contributed $35,000.00 to Scientology in 2009 and his ex-wife who is still in business with him in The Blank Corp paid Scientology $500,000.00 in 2010. That money came from Neil Gaiman. These payments are facts published in Scientology's own magazines.

Gaiman is still a Scientologist because he pays them. He is listed in 2009 as a Cornerstone Club member and paid them $35,000.00. You can't just walk out of Scientology or you will be disconnected from your family members. Gaiman pays the cult and his ex wife who lives on his property is in charge of the Minnesota Org. Gaiman underwrites this cult.

instead of "stars who quit scientology," i propose the article change its title to "stars who are no longer completely delusional"

Not sure if I'm understanding the situation correctly. It seems Ms. Remini has left scientology, meaning she no longer wishes to be a member.  BUT, is she renouncing the teachings of Scientology OR just saying she disagrees with management?

I don't go to any church but read about Scientology.  They are a cult.  What makes a cult different from other churches- is that the people in the cult are discouraged from socializing with people outside the "church".  If their family members leave the church, they are forbidden from socializing with them.  Ex-scientologists are threatened and harassed.  The church "audits" which is a bizarre practice, similar to a lie detector test.  The "church" once tried to practice as a new unaccepted psychology.  L. R. Hubbard faced jail if he continued to pass Scientology off as a science of any kind.  So it called it a "church", which also gave him tax exemption.  Crafty.  It's a total racket, money making scam.

Many conservative Christian, Mormon and Moonie sects enforce some aspect of thought control. Even more liberal sects try to control the behavior of its members (i.e., Catholics). It is what religions do...This actress was lucky she could easily walk a way from her sect without serious consequences.

@orangeplasticfish Perhaps you are unaware of the serious, life-changing consequences that have befallen many, many former Scientologists who have left the Church.

She's strong to take such an open stand. And she's right.

Scientology and all of the "revealed"/hearsay religions are based on foolishness. The American founder and Deist Thomas Paine was right when in his landmark book on God, Deism and religion, The Age of Reason, The Complete Edition, he called for a revolution in religion based on our innate God-given reason and Deism.

@bojimbo26 Film stars are definitely NOT running Scientology. Instead, they are puppets.
