Then she paid dearly for her Big Mac attack

Have you ever thought about riding your horse to the McDonald’s drive-thru? Last Saturday a woman didn’t just think about it – she did it. But when she and her daughter showed up around lunch time on horseback at the drive-thru in Whitefield, England, they were both turned away.

That’s when things got ugly. Denied at the drive-thru, the woman led her horse inside the restaurant, where the animal promptly defecated on the floor. The staff called the police, and the woman was fined, as the Mirror News reports. “The sight & smell of this caused obvious distress and upset to customers trying to eat, as well as staff members,” the Whitefield division of the Greater Manchester Police noted in a Facebook post.

McDonald’s said in a statement reported by the BBC, “The health and safety of our customers and staff is our top priority, and for this reason we are unable to serve pedestrians, bicycle riders or customers on horseback through the drive-thru,”

Note to self: next time, take the car.

“The health and safety of our customers and staff is our top priority, and for this reason we are unable to serve pedestrians, bicycle riders or customers on horseback through the drive-thru,”

HOW does handing something through a window to someone endanger ANYONE'S health and safety?

I was denied once in US when my friends & I stopped at another restaurant nearby for dinner but I preferred to eat at McDonald's and walked over to the Drive-In counter. The same reason of safety was quoted by the staff & I really do not get it !! They expect ppl walking will be having guns and can shoot and run away but those coming in cars will not have gun and will not be able to leave the location as they can magically control the movement of car?????? It utter stupidity to quote safety as reason. I had to call my friends to bring the car and then order my dinner and get it, :-(

My question is: Why you can be served in a motorcycle and not in a bike or horseback? Kinda od this! What's the difference? The polluting engine? Shame on um McDonald's

In Spain, Dos Hermanas, they let horses through the drive-thru at least during the local party.

Too funny.  But why did they deny her in the drive thru?

@RameshPalani So you didn't WALK INTO the McDonalds to order, but had your friends drive their car through so you could order? THAT was stupid.

@AnthonyPierceTheSource @tikibear21 Now now, don't use insulting words, Anthony.

Possibly, someone will sue McD's if they allow pedestrians, bicyclists, to be served through the drive in.  If McD's allows those customer types by serving them, then they would be part of an accident if one occurred.

On the other hand, A horse is typically smart, and if a car gets near them they will get out of the way even if the horse's rider doesn't see the car coming.

Case in point, there is an attorney in a Southern state (Tennesse, maybe?) who is suing Apple becuase the iPad allows him access to the porn on the internet.  I am not making this up.  People are crazy and will sue if they think they can get a dime.
