While Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky” is the song of the summer, Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines,” which features T.I. and Pharrell Williams, is a close second. The insanely catchy and controversial earworm with the racy and NSFW video, has been omnipresent on the radio this season and hit number 5 on our list of the best songs of 2013. Now finally, someone (The Hood Internet, specifically) has paired up Robin Thicke’s track with the theme song to Growing Pains, the 80s sitcom that starred his father, Alan Thicke.

While 66-year-old Alan may be best known for his acting roles, particularly his iconic role as family patriarch Dr. Jason Seaver on Growing Pains, he is also an accomplished songwriter. He has composed theme songs to hit shows such as The Facts of Life, Diff’rent Strokes and Wheel of Fortune. Alan also co-wrote “Ain’t No Hat 4 That” off of Robin’s forthcoming sixth studio album, Blurred Lines. (The track actually features three generations of Thickes as Robin’s 3-year-old son is also featured.)

As popular as it is, “Blurred Lines” has been slammed as misogynistic by some critics. While Robin has called the critique “ridiculous,”  the internet has responded to the video in its own way. Check out this gender swapped version of “Blurred Lines,” by Seattle’s Mod Carousel who created their own version of Robin’s controversial (and catchy) single. The group changed the lyrics, rerecorded the vocals, and restaged the video with all of the genders swapped to amazing effect:
