Cameras caught an inmate making a brazen escape from Garland County Detention Center in Hot Springs, Ark., over the weekend. CBS-KHTV reports that Derrick Estell, 33, pretended to use the county jail’s phone when he managed to distract prison staffers — with the help of a suspected accomplice named William Harding — and then jumped the waiting room’s counter and proceeded to bolt across the parking lot, according to surveillance video. A woman identified as Tamara Upshaw was reportedly waiting with a getaway car, but the vehicle — reportedly owned by his partner in crime — was found abandoned three minutes later in another part of town, ABC’s Good Morning America reports. Authorities say Estell, who is suspected of armed robbery, should be considered “violent” and “aggressive.”
