Velvet Underground got together in 1993 after about 23 years. With sound improvements, they sounded better than they ever did.
Of course Zeppelin is number one. Although I like these other bands, I can't believe that Van Halen, Police, Eagles, Kiss etc ... are being used in the same sentence.. That is like comparing a top line Ferrari to a Ford Focus ... Zeppelin music is way beyond amazing, and is utterly timeless. In 100 years you will be hard pressed to find anyone who listens, or has even heard of the other noted bands above. Further to that, you will be hard pressed to find many people who listen to the Stones or the Beatles. Zeppelin along with Elvis are the only one's that will truly stand the test of time.
Unbelievable. Where's Spandau Ballet? They were amazing in the 80's, broke up in the 90's and sued each other. It was only back in 2009 when they regrouped. How could that not be a wonderful band reunion in your list?
How is it that Pink Floyd is not in this list? That was probably the most anticipated re-union in the last 15 years!
This is a great story by Steve Martin:
"One night I was lingering at the bar and talking to Glenn Frey, who was just leaving his duo, Longbranch Pennywhistle. He said he was considering a name for his new five-man group. "What is it?" I said. He said, "Eagles." I said, 'You mean, the Eagles?" and he said, "No, Eagles." The name of the group remains, of course, Eagles."
I had the great honor of seeing The Police in Orlando while this tour was going on. It was my first concert. And if its my last that's okay because I fulfilled a lifelong wish to see my favorite band live at least once. It was awesome and if I never see another band live again I saw The Police.
@DennisWells But only 3 went multi-platinum
