Katie Couric is now engaged to her boyfriend of two years, People magazine reports
Financier John Molner proposed to the broadcaster over the weekend on a beach in East Hampton, N.Y.. The couple appeared earlier this year at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Gala, and were also spotted courtside at a New York Knicks game.
The TV star has been a widow since 1998, when her husband Jay Monahan died of colon cancer, leaving their two small daughters fatherless. Couric told People in 2011 that she had hoped for a second marriage, joking that she wanted to be a “modern day Carol Brady.” But eventually Couric stopped worrying about her love life and focused on her daughters and her career, until she met Molner two years ago.
