Professional eater Joey Chestnut wolfed down thirteen apple pies in eight minutes at this year’s Johny Appleseed Festival in Brunswick, Ohio. Not only did he win the pie eating contest, beating out fellow champ Sonya “The Black Widow” Thomas, he also broke the world record in the process.
After claiming the title, Chestnut explained the secret to this success. “I just get into a rhythm, control my breathing, don’t over-stuff my mouth, drink water, just do the same thing over and over again.”
