Thanksgiving is still months away, but September 16th is the anniversary of when the Pilgrims departed from England on the Mayflower. This historical occasion has been reenacted in several films, some of which use the September 6th date. The reason for the discrepancy? The Pilgrims at the time were using the Julian Calendar, which is 10 days behind the one we currently use.
