Forget rosy sunsets and candlelit dinners. Turns out even the plywood aisle at Home Depot can be the right setting for romance, if you do it tight.

Earlier this month, Dustin thought he had gone with his roommate to the Salt Lake City store to help pick out lights for a party. Instead, the outing was a ruse arranged by his boyfriend (with help from friends and family), who staged a one-of-a-kind marriage proposal. As friends and family danced to Betty Who’s Somebody Loves You, Dustin walked up in a bespoke suit, holding a sign that read, “If I am good to you … want to be good to me?” before popping the question on bended knee.
