Correction appended, Oct. 10, 2013.

It has been decided. China has named Nicolas Cage the Best Global Actor in Motion Pictures at the Huading Awards.

And as far as anyone who has seen the actor’s YouTube reel entitled “Nicolas Cage Losing His S***” or is a member of the sub-Reddit group “One True God” is concerned, it’s about time.

Cage did win an Oscar for Leaving Loss Vegas in 1995, but more recently he’s been known for his roles in the Ghost Rider series and flubs like The Wicker Man.

While shooting a new film with Hayden Christensen in Hong Kong, Cage stopped by the Huading Awards to accept his trophy.

“Making a movie in China, I’m buzzing with good energy, I feel great here,” he said. “I love the people I’m working with, I love the crew, and there’s a genuine warmth and enthusiasm that I get from my conversations.”

The feeling is obviously mutual.

Correction: An earlier version of this story, published Oct. 9, 2013, incorrectly stated that Nicolas Cage filed for bankruptcy in 2009. Mr. Cage did not file for bankruptcy in 2009. We regret the error.
