Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries’ short-lived fairytale has reached its bitter end, again.

On Tuesday, the reality star’s 20-carat diamond engagement ring was auctioned off at Christie’s in New York for $620,000, US Weekly reports. The anonymous online buyer will pay a total of $749,000 for the bling, including auction fees.

Humphries, who was married to Kardashian for a mere 72 days in 2011 before she filed for divorce, reportedly sold the ring, though Christie’s would not disclose his name. The proceeds of the sale will be donated to a charity, though one has not been named.

The ring, which was designed by family friend Lorraine Schwartz, holds a whopping 16.21-carat center diamond with 1.8-carat diamonds on each side.

Hopefully the new owner’s love story will have a happier ending.

I still have to wonder what Humphries was thinking when he decided to marry her. He is one of those athletes who chooses a wife based mainly on looks. Some of these athletes have married strippers and playmates. Reggie Bush was smart in listening to his mom who felt Kim was not the right woman for him as she had a sex tape on the internet. Mike Tyson marries women with brain/talent and beauty unlike many other athletes.
