Not the human cheese

Well, the impossible has happened. Scientists have now created a type of cheese that we wouldn’t want to eat.

Snobs, you might think. What kind of cheese could you possibly turn up your noses to? The kind of cheese that’s made out of skin microbes. That’s right, Hannibal, human skin.

Microbiologist Christina Agapakis and artist Sissel Tolaas decided to join evil forces to ferment cheese out of their own skin microbes. They even made a custom cheese for Omnivore’s Dilemma author Michael Pollan out of bacteria from his belly button. And that should just about sum it all up.
