Lady Gaga may wear the muppets well, but she can’t hang with them.
ABC’s Lady Gaga & The Muppets Holiday Spectacular was anything but dazzling, with only 3.6 million people tuning in for the Thanksgiving special. Even the star power of Kristen Bell, Sir Elton John, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and a 1990s throwback to Ru Paul wasn’t enough to draw in viewers.
As Entertainment Weekly points out, the ARTPOP singer’s Thanksgiving special two years ago, which aired at the same time, had 5.4 million viewers. (Perhaps they were all at the early Black Friday sales?) Earlier in the evening, 5.3 million viewers tuned in for the annual showing of “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving.”
