Some things never change: The time-old question of how to tie a tie tops the “how-to” section of Google’s 13th annual Zeitgeist collection, a round-up of the people, places, and events that garnered the most attention on search in the U.S. this year.

“Unjailbreak,” the process of restoring factory default settings, is a term that’s probably familiar to people who have tried to install apps on a mobile device that are not available in the product’s app store. “Vadering,” the latest Star Wars meme, refers to photos of people recreating the scene in which Darth Vader “choke holds” victims with “the Force.”

Given Miley Cyrus’s “twerk-a-thon” at MTV’s Video Music Awards in August, part of us is surprised, and yet relieved, to see that “How to Twerk” is NOT on this list. Let’s leave that to the professionals in the new year, shall we?
