Have a tendency to dislike everyone and everything because humans are terrible and this world is a devastating sham? If you answered “no,” congratulations on being a good person, but you might want to reconsider embracing negativity–you know, for your health.

Scientific American reports that negative emotions are actually integral to your well-being, and attempting to suppress them in the name of faux positivity will only make them fester. According to Scientific American:

In recent years I have noticed an increase in the number of people who also feel guilty or ashamed about what they perceive to be negativity. Such reactions undoubtedly stem from our culture’s overriding bias toward positive thinking. Although positive emotions are worth cultivating, problems arise when people start believing they must be upbeat all the time.

In fact, anger and sadness are an important part of life, and new research shows that experiencing and accepting such emotions are vital to our mental health.

Let the hate flow in you and through you.

Seems like this idiotic article was done by an intern, an incompetent intern. Not one of the good interns. The real article writers should get off their phones and start doing some work that they are being paid for..morons!! (There I've let my hate flow through...)

My father a renowned physician always said this(about anger) as I was such an incorrigible character in my childhood(who felt angry at too many things, more than was good) and fell in this bracket, traces of this malady I continue to carry. But he advised try to check as much as possible as it can set in Hypertension too which of course it did . I fully endorse what is said in the finding having had first hand experience. Also dummies who are super cool cannot fight wars , some degree of anger is essential to fight so much vicissitudes in life too and it helps in the drive

I thought that Time was one of the most scientific journals and wouldn't make vague assumptions and jump to conclusions... I'm very surprised and disappointed by this article... Just take a paragraph out of a study and make an article out of it... I guess it is easy to become a journalist on here...

P.S. I never wrote any comment like this before... so I'm taking your advice on it!

There's nothing wrong in being negative. After all, the reality is nothing like a fairytale. Being negative suppresses your expectation and makes you believe "if you want it, you must get it". It protects you from emotionally over draining too, especially in relationship issues. because you'd have already seen that coming. The ability to say NO, let go and with a pinch of negativity makes you a stronger individuals coz you're not easily hurt and you know the time and place to be nice to people. I'm sure this attitude works for people who chooses their career over rest of the things. I have no idea how terrible it feels, if you choose your personal life over your career. Your life, your choices, you choose them and you'll regret.
