A small brewery in Missouri has cheekily responded to a complaint letter from Starbucks by sending the coffee giant a check for $6. Exit 6 Pub and Brewery in the St. Louis suburb of Cottleville sent the paltry sum to make amends for all profits received from three units of specialty beer it sold dubbed “Frappicino.”

Seattle-based Starbucks claims the sole right to use the term Frappucino, albeit spelt differently, and issued a cease-and-desist order, as the words were “phonetically identical” and “likely to cause confusion.”

In response, Exit 6 owner Jeff Britton sent a sarcasm-laced missive to Starbucks, saying: “We feel shame. We are bad people.”

He added: “We just want to help Starbucks. Us small business owners need to stick together.”
