One woman’s desire to cuddle led to an alleged assault, according to the Bradenton Herald.

31-year old Shavonna Rumph of Manatee, Florida pulled a knife on her boyfriend after he allegedly refused to cuddle with her in bed Saturday night. The couple had been drinking together when they retired to bed and the alleged lack of cuddling occurred. The argument became physical and Rumph tore the man’s shirt. The live-in boyfriend attempted to leave the apartment, but Rumph didn’t want him to go as the argument escalated.

Police arrived on the scene and during their investigation found that Rumph “had picked up a kitchen knife as if she was going to use it to hurt or stab” her boyfriend, but according to the police report, the man was not worried about being hurt. Rumph then told deputies that the couple “got into an argument because (her boyfriend) would not cuddle.”

Rumph was charged with misdemeanor domestic battery and posted $250 bond, according to the Orlando Sentinel. No word on whether any cuddling occurred upon her release.
