This Woman Ate and Drank Nothing But Starbucks Products for an Entire Year

Also, her legal name is Beautiful Existence.

The Internet is no stranger to bizarre yearlong challenges — remember that guy who watched Julie and Julia every day for a year? Well, a woman in Seattle named Beautiful Existence (yup) just completed a challenge of her own by consuming nothing but Starbucks products for an entire year.

“I did it!” the 40-year-old mother of two wrote on her blog, where she’s been documenting the dining experience. And it wasn’t just difficult — it was also rather pricey. She said she spent between $500 and $600 a month on the coffee, pastries, packaged sandwiches and other Starbucks fare.

Now, if you’re anything like us, you’re now asking yourself, Why? Why did Beautiful Existence do this?

“WHY? am I doing this challenge? Or WHY? will I do any challenge in the future? Because I LOVE being human and I LOVE the privilege of being able to ask the question WHY? in the first place!” she wrote on her blog. If that’s not enough of a concrete reason for you, then we guess that’s just too bad.

Now that it’s all over, Existence is proud of her accomplishment — but seems pretty relieved.

“In the last month, in the last couple weeks, it’s been really difficult,” Existence told the New York Daily News. “People had pizza at the office last week and I was dying. I’m happy to be able to eat whatever I want (again).”

The United States, the endless factory of perfect idiots. "beautiful existence"... makes me sick to the marrow. What other "challenge" can idiots pull than not splurging, self-indulging, egotistical, self-serving pursuits?? Imagine if they made a commitment to donate to a children's home or a shelter for a year the difference that would make. But no, trash can only look as far as their own bellybutton.

What a sad and pathetic existence. She should  step in the world and buy some mac and cheese.

Apparently, while she is very good at typing the question "WHY?", she doesn't have a clue as to how to answer it… or even what it means in the first place.  As to the reason… i suspect that it has to do with getting her very silly name online.  Mission accomplished!

How come we never see people taking challenges such as: "I am going to find the cure for cancer". We only take those useless things that bring nothing positive to humankind.

Why Starbucks? They don’t exactly have a wide variety of food choices. She must really like Frappucinos.  I’m obviously leaving out the larger questions here which many of the other commenters have raised. If I were going to try some sort of food challenge for a year, it would  be giving up a food.I did give up all sweets for over 2 years.I did not eat a single cookie, spoonful of ice-cream,  piece of chocolate, or even eat white bread or anything with  white flour for 2 years.

Any guess as to what happened after that ,folks?!

Btw, I did it because I was in Overeaters Anonymous and I was taught that this was the cure for Compulsive Overeating, not as a food challenge. It’s not the cure.Trust me !

What a shallow person... She could put her time/money/effort to a much better use, but chose this frivolous 'challenge'.

She refers to herself as "we", that is enough of an explanation for me.

I dont know how thats a challenge.  Just seems stupid to me.  If you want to challenge yourself why not do something meaningful like giving one homeless person a sandwich everyday for a year instead of blowing an inordinate amount of money on a one way ticket to diabetes.  SMH what a waste of resources

@DJS I'll tell you why she chose Starbucks - because it's Seattle, so we actually have more Starbucks han anywhere else. You can't walk a block without seeing at least one franchise. So it's a practical choice of restaurant (?) on her part. But an unimaginably dumb undertaking, overall.

@subtlefist Why don't you try giving "one homeless person" a sandwich everyday instead of calling someone else a waste of resources for doing something she wants to do ? I think we would all like to know what sort of "meaningful" things you do with all your time, seeing that you are bashing other people's way of life.

@wh1te_mag1c @DJS  Thanks. That answers my question. I live in New York.(not Manhattan) We have a Starbucks every couple of miles or so,where  I live.  The funny thing is that few people I know  around here actually like Starbucks Coffee. Most people  I know go to Starbucks for the “ambiance”,or Frappucinos-anything but the actual coffee.

I  would  tend to agree that it’s an imaginably dumb undertaking, overall. I assume she desperately wanted to have her 15 minutes of fame.
