Google’s Street View apparatus, a giant camera rig stuck to the top of cars, vans, and even backpacks, might be high technology, but it’s still pretty clunky. It’s certainly no match for a Mercedes Benz, as this race staged by the British TV show Top Gear demonstrates.

Piloted by the show’s professional driver, the Benz literally runs circles around the Google car. The slower vehicle was actually filming the entire event, so you can watch in stop motion as it gets left in the dust in Google’s street view.

Congratulations, now you know what the back of a race car looks like! Pair with Hyperlapse for a high-speed animated version.
