Watch MSNBC Interrupt a Congresswoman to Break News About Justin Bieber’s Arrest

Can you belieb MSNBC's priorities?

If a news channel interrupts a member of Congress mid-sentence, one might assume that the breaking news would be of considerable urgency.

Not with Justin Bieber in trouble. MSNBC interrupted former Rep. Jane Harman, Democrat of California, as she earnestly applied her expertise to discuss the NSA so they could tell the world that the baby-faced swag demon had been arrested in Miami, Fla. It seems a cause célèbreakdown trumps analysis of our right to privacy.

“Congresswoman, let me interrupt you just for a moment, we have some breaking news out of Miami,” anchor Andrea Mitchell said without a hint of irony, casually chipping away at the dignity of news reporting with a pick axe moulded from the sharp, shattered discards of our national soul.

Of all the musicians in the world, Bieber is one of them.

I would side with MSNBC. I would rather see news about some popular icon getting arrested for a crime than see interviews on members of political sectors that are openly screwing citizens.

Brain laundering people to train up low information voters to believe that Justin Beaver is more my important than a gov. scandal. Are you brain programmed yet? Did it work on you?

  • My first thought on this is that it must have originated at The Onion.  But then again, this is really quite believable. Remember - they're p.o.'d that they've been unsuccessful at getting a significant percent of the public to think Edward Snowden is a traitor.
What is even more horrifying than their priorities in coverage, is that these msm news organizations are who pick the issues and supposed "front runners" in national elections.
  •  Andrea Mitchell has really come a long way from the days of haranguing Frank Rizzo on Philly local radio, to celebrity gossip 'journalist'. She evidently must have lost her mind after marrying Greenspan's corpse.

Quite ironic, coming from you Time, when Bieber basically took over the front page of CNN yesterday.

Come on, it's MSNBC, they'll do almost anything to keep ahead of CNN in the ratings.

It's only a question of who has more "deck chairs"; is it MSNBC or CNN?

I think MSNBC is catering to their audience, ie, under 20.  The adults of this country are concerned about this country.  We have absolutely no interest in Bieber whatsoever.  Kudos to anyone who stops watching a mockery of a newsource.

Typical of just how brainless the American viewing population has become, and by extension, the media that serves it.   Andrea Mitchell is considered to be a highly respected journalist, but how can she be...she's pandering to nonsense instead of dealing with real issues.

@SamBarber Bieber can hardly be called a 'musician'... did you mean to say he is NOT one of them?

@HeavenlyBell Um, no, she was discussing the NSA, which is illegally violating each and every one of our Constitutional rights. I sometimes think that the media must overestimate how shallow and uninformed the American public is. Your comment makes me think they might be spot on.
