After nearly twenty years, the United States’ milk processors have decided to drop “Got Milk?” as their main slogan in favor of “Milk Life.” The new tagline and ad campaign are aiming to recast milk as a key ingredient to an active lifestyle, playing up the dairy product’s protein content. But the new tagline has huge shoes to fill.
“Got Milk?” became one of the most well-known slogans ever thanks to a series of humorous commercials and a print ad campaign that featured around 300 celebrities donning the iconic milk mustache. Here, we look back at some of the most memorable moments of the “Got Milk?” campaign. Though it will no longer be promoted nationally, “Got Milk?” ads will continue to run in California, where the slogan was originally developed.
