NBA free agency begins on July 1. For now, free speech is in full swing.

The Miami Heat has left no mystery regarding its desire to re-sign free agent Dwyane Wade. In fact, they’ve designed an entire website in hopes of keeping MV3 in Miami.

Some goods associated with the new marketing venture:
– Upload your own video encouraging Wade to stay
– Place an order for your free We Want Wade fan kit
– Use the tag #WeWantWade and have your tweet revealed on the site
– Temporarily refer to Miami-Dade county as “Wade” county

Yet, like all endeavors, there are some don’ts to follow. Topping that list: “Follow him. It’s not just intrusive. It’s creepy (and illegal).”

Will the campaign result in a June boon for the Heat? Wade was on board with the idea via his Twitter: “Reading messages on wewantwade.com. I think its cool that the Heat came up w/this creative campaign.”

Fans agreed, as the flow of users on day one forced the Heat to shift to a larger server. Read the Miami Herald’s take on how the team handled the heavy traffic.
