Which Dino Bite Could Kill You the Worst?

While many of their fellow scientists are busy brainstorming ways to clean up the Gulf of Mexico oil spill, paleontologists are free to spend their days on more philosophical pursuits, such as the question “How hard could dinosaurs bite?”

Manabu Sakamoto from the University of Bristol has released a comprehensive analysis of dinosaur teeth and jaw bones that finally provides an answer to that question: Very hard indeed. The most dangerous? The (thankfully long-dead) prehistoric shark Carcharodon megalodon, which had a bite 30 times stronger than a Great White. (via Discovery)
