Ugh, cats are the worst. Except when it comes to impersonating monkeys. Then they’re actually pretty good.

The Wildlife Conservation Society is reporting that wild cats in the Amazon can actually mimic monkey calls in order to lure and catch them. Apparently they are so skilled at imitating primates, they’ve been known to fool whole groups of monkeys.

“Cats are known for their physical agility, but this vocal manipulation of prey species indicates a psychological cunning which merits further study,” said one researcher.

Although it’s a little evil, you’ve got to admit, it’s also pretty genius. (via the Wildlife Conservation Society)
