Though only northern territories could see it, the “solar tsunami” had quite the dramatic effect on the skies last night.

Thanks to a massive eruption of plasma on the surface of the sun, or a coronal mass ejection, Earth was showered in ionized atoms last night, creating an “aurora” in the sky. It only took three and a half days for the atoms to reach Earth from the sun, according to the U.K’s Telegraph.

The flames were small grade; more severe flames could have caused damage on Earth. No damage was reported from this “tsunami” — just a nice view. Lucky Denmark.
