Because that’s what the memory of 9/11 was missing. A musical.

Clear Blue Tuesday opens this Friday at New York City’s Quad Cinema.  The New York Times reports that the musical, which is focused on the lives of 11 characters in the years following 9/11, won’t likely be appreciated by everyone, writing that “only die-hard fans of musicals, very earnest people and Sept. 11 completists are likely to digest it whole.”

Regardless of how you feel about musicals in general, is it too soon for this sort of artistic representation? Well, judging from the dismal look of the trailer, the reviews that range from lukewarm to scathing, and the comments on the blogosphere, a 9/11 musical might never have its time.
