You bet they are. But they’re testing it out on Canada first. Yay for Canada!
It looks like the movie-by-mail service will be announcing on Wednesday that they are spreading their streaming services to Canada this fall (a Canadian flag icon is also now visible on NetFlix’s homepage). The actual movies-by-mail part of NetFlix’s services won’t be available however, though Canada already has their own version of that, Zip.ca.
According to Mashable, “Netflix will use Canada as a trial for international expansion. [CEO Reed] Hastings and other Netflix executives will take some time to see how the service performs there before expanding to any other countries.”
How does Canada feel about being used in such a manner? Probably pretty good, eh? (via Mashable)
