The social network behemoth confirms that unspecified site issues resulted in the site acting slow or unavailable for some of its 500 million users. Somebody should make a movie about this company!
Spokeswoman Kathleen Loughlin wrote an e-mail to the Associated Press early Wednesday explaining the firm was working on the problem and followed up shortly afterward to say the issue had been resolved.
Nevertheless, the phrase “Facebook Isn’t Working” was one of the top trending topics late Tuesday on Twitter (who, it must be noted, have also suffered technical problems of late). Facebook’s outage came just hours before the company was due to make announcements at an invite-only event at its Palo Alto headquarters. There would be a certain irony if reliability was on Wednesday’s agenda.
