If you’re an Arcade Fire fan in Portugal, NewsFeed has some bad news for you–it seems officials feel that NATO takes priority over the Montreal band.
The band was scheduled to play the same November weekend as a NATO summit and Lisbon’s officials, concerned for security, declared that the Arcade Fire concert must be cancelled. The gig was to take place at the Atlantic Pavilion, which is near Lisbon’s International Fair site, where the summit is to take place.
Though the band offered to move their show date up, officials rejected the idea. Some twenty-thousand fans are being offered refunds for their tickets. (via the Guardian)
