What a show of faith by FOX!
Long-running animated show The Simpsons was renewed for a 23rd season Thursday morning. The move will keep the show on the air until spring 2012 and bring it past the 500-episode benchmark. To put this in context, 100 episodes is normally the benchmark for syndication; The Simpsons has been on the air for the equivalent of five fairly successful shows put together.
The renewal will put The Simpsons up to 515 episodes. Only two prime-time shows have produced more: Lassie (588) and Gunsmoke (635). Keep on pushing out those slides, sad factory workers!
