Harry Potter and RPG (role playing game) fans everywhere will be happy to hear about the all new 8-bit video game available right now on YouTube.

The game is simply a series of animated virals which, when played in sequence, construct a narrative to form a sequel to the seventh and final Potter novel. Despite the — spoiler alert! — apparent resurrection of Dumbledore the storyline is a lighthearted homage to the franchise and picks up on the lack of school attendance by Harry in his final year due to dire developments. Harry is forced to attend summer school at Hogwarts and, along with Hermione and Ron, is sidetracked by the appearance of the Summer School Spectre, a ghoul the three students must defeat in order to get on with their studies.

The RPG format and animation will feel very familiar to gamers who remember the early Final Fantasy and Pokemon games and who will also be pleasantly surprised by the creators’ loyalty to the genre. While it boasts no high production values or official credentials, the game is one of the best parodies of the wizarding world of Harry Potter that NewsFeed has seen.
