It’s been a big year news-wise–think Wikileaks, the rally to restore sanity, the Chilean miners— but according to Yahoo! we’re still just obsessed with celebrities, sports and reality television.
Yahoo! has released the most searched terms for 2010 and the results might–but probably shouldn’t–surprise you.
The list reveals our continued preoccupation with pop stars (which made up four out of the ten top searches), Kim Kardashian (which was also Bing’s biggest search term for this year–perhaps people want to know exactly why she’s famous?) and the never-ending American Idol.

Yet there are some reassuring aspects to the list. The top search term of 2010 was “BP Oil Spill,”–at least we can take comfort knowing that our focus on environmental disaster outweighs our obsession with celebrity.
