And you thought your father was behind the times.

Ramajit Raghav, a 94-year-old man in India, says he is the father of a one-month-old baby boy. Yes, that’s right. He’s 94.

Raghav and his wife Shakuntala gave birth to their son, called Vikramjeet, last month in India’s Kharkhoda Civil Hospital.

The chief medical officer of the hospital, Dr Paramjeet Singh, said that despite Raghav’s age, it’s not impossible that he’s a father. “Having babies at such age is remote possibility but then it can’t be ruled out as it just needs one sperm to fertilize the egg,” he said.

In fact, according to the Daily Mail, it’s the baby’s mother’s age that is more troubling–she’s reportedly in her 50s, meaning that her chances of being able to bear children are extremely slim.

Raghav claims he is more than 100 years old, but the Daily Mail reports that old-age pension records indicate that he is 94. Either way, fathering Vikramjeet would make Raghav the oldest man known to be a father. (via the Daily Mail)
