The Oscars race begins any minute now – and you can tune in right here.
Already, the big odds are on The Social Network cleaning up. Not only have audiences flocked to the film and critics embraced the movie but central character Mark Zuckerberg was brought back into the spotlight when he was named TIME’s Person of the Year, and the film then walked away with the top awards at this month’s Golden Globes.
Momentum is on its side.
But this being only the second recent year with 10 best picture nominees, the debate instead has quickly evolved to: What other nine nominees will fill the gap? There seem to be a couple sure things – namely The King’s Speech and Inception and Black Swan – but what about 127 Hours, True Grit, Never Let Me Go, The Ghost Writer, Winter’s Bone, etc.?

It’s a wild open field, not just at best picture but also in the acting categories, and before the hour is out, the finalists will know that they have been crowned the winners of 2010 by their esteemed peers.
And then the real debate will begin.
