Papa John’s is offering free pizzas to ALL American adults if the Super Bowl goes in to overtime — admittedly something that has never happened at the big game.

As the official sponsor of the Super Bowl this year Papa John’s has a whole host of promotional deals, but its claim that “OT=Free Pizza” has to be the best of all.

All residents of the 50 states of America (excluding Puerto Rico), aged over 18, are eligible to register for the “Overtime Sweepstake.” Registration is now open; it ends on February 5, 2011 at 11:59:59pm. Meanwhile, those already part of the Papa John’s Rewards Program are automatically entered into the Sweepstake and need not reapply.

If the Super Bowl XLV game is tied and goes into Overtime ALL registrants are eligible to receive a free large pizza with up to three toppings (equivalent to 25 ‘My Papa Points’). If you think that sounds as tasty as we do, register here.

This year’s game, held on February 6, sees the Pittsburgh Steelers take on the Green Bay Packers, at the Cowboys’ stadium in Arlington, Texas. The last time the two teams met each other there was only a one point margin, so a tie isn’t out of the question. The game is expected to be a close run thing, with bookies predicting a 2.5 point spread by the Green Bay Packers over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

So just remember, if you see one of the Packers holding back on the offense, he may have a Papa John’s special with extra cheese in mind.
